Proofreading Services
for Court Reporters
and Stenographers

As a guardian of the record, your reputation is built on accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines.  At Parker Proofing Services, my mission is simple: to provide court reporters with detail-oriented proofreading support that ensures your transcripts are clean, verbatim, and deadline-ready.

Why Partner with a Proofreader?

As a court reporter, your work is integral to the justice system.  The accuracy of your transcripts directly impacts cases, making it critical to ensure every word, punctuation mark, and formatting choice is correct.  Using a proofreader saves you time, allowing you to focus on what you do best—capturing the record. It also protects your reputation by delivering polished, error-free transcripts that attorneys and clients can rely on.

Whether it’s verifying legal terminology, fine-tuning punctuation for clarity, or preventing subtle misinterpretations that could influence a case, a proofreader is an invaluable asset in maintaining the integrity of your work.  Investing in a proofreader goes beyond fixing errors.  It’s about elevating your transcripts, protecting your credibility, and optimizing your workflow.

Time (2)_edited.jpg

Stay on schedule and meet deadlines with ease.  A proofreader ensures your transcripts are polished and ready for submission, saving you from last-minute stress.  By freeing up the hours you’d spend double-checking your work, you can take on more cases and increase your earning potential—all while delivering clean, reliable transcripts on time.

Accuracy matters in every transcript.  A proofreader catches small but critical errors—misheard words, homophones, and punctuation mistakes that can alter meaning.  Even slight inaccuracies can lead to misunderstandings.  Thoughtful review ensures your transcript is accurate, consistent, and dependable.

Reliable transcripts build trust.  Delivering consistently error-free work protects your reputation and keeps clients coming back.  Attorneys, judges, and clients expect accuracy.  Partnering with a proofreader helps ensure they can trust every word.  Submit your work confidently, knowing it meets the highest standards.

Proofreading Services

Parker Proofing offers reliable, high-quality proofreading services, customized to your needs.  I ensure your transcripts follow industry guidelines while respecting your personal style preferences.  With competitive rates and flexible turnaround times including rush and same-day service, your deadlines are covered.  There’s never an upcharge for work completed on weekends or holidays.

PDF Proofreading

I proofread transcripts in PDF format using annotation software, a practice many court reporters prefer.  A major advantage of PDF proofing is its compatibility with any stenography or court reporting software—export your transcript as a PDF, and it’s ready to be proofed.  Corrections are marked with red annotations and yellow highlights for easy review.  Unless otherwise requested, I’ll return only the annotated pages, allowing you to review and implement individual changes while maintaining full control over your final transcript.

If you need to convert your files to PDF format for proofreading, I recommend using CutePDF.

How the Process Works

Getting started is simple.  Say hello via email, text, or the Contact page, and I’ll follow up to confirm availability and discuss format, turnaround time, rate, and payment.

Once we’re on the same page, send your transcript via email or file-sharing software.  I’ll confirm receipt and make sure the file is readable.  Your requested turnaround time officially begins once I’ve confirmed receipt.

If you have a preference sheet, please include it with your transcript. If not, you can complete one online by clicking here.  While it’s not required, I strongly recommend it—it helps ensure your transcript is proofed accurately, efficiently, and to your specifications.

I’ll proofread your transcript according to your preferences and return it on time with clear, easy-to-understand annotations (annotated pages only, unless otherwise specified).

For first-time clients, invoices are sent upon completion of the proofreading job, with payment due within 10 days.  Payment must be received before additional jobs can be accepted.  Returning clients may choose between immediate invoicing or semi-monthly billing on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Who's Behind Parker Proofing?

Hi, I’m Timothy.

I’m a professional proofreader and small business owner, specializing in transcript proofreading for court reporters.  I partner with skilled reporters to produce accurate, verbatim transcripts under strict deadlines.  My clients trust me to catch hard-to-spot errors, refine punctuation, enhance clarity, and ensure their transcripts are polished and precise.

Based in New York City, I work with court reporters and stenographers across the United States, accommodating clients in multiple time zones.  I have experience proofing transcripts from federal and civil court proceedings, depositions, voir dire, medical malpractice cases, expert testimony, and more.

I trained at Elizabeth Wiegner’s Transcript Proofreading Academy, where I learned to thoughtfully proofread and annotate verbatim PDF transcripts for readability and clarity without altering the speaker’s words or tone.  I’ve also completed additional coursework in Case CATalyst proofreading.  Click below to learn more about my background and experience.
